Although the new Ceramic Tourmaline Technology was designed to give hair maximum protection while straightening, it is still important to pre-treat your hair with a hair serum or a hair pre-straightening lotion. (Preferably with Vitamin E).
If you are using your hair straightener on a regular basis, your hair could be loosing some essential oils and minerals. To prevent, or at the very least minimize this unwanted condition, you should always pre-treat your hair before straightening with a serum or lotion.
These serums and lotions will also help to keep your hair style intact during the day.
Another important step is to be sure to use a conditioning treatment on your hair at least weekly, or more often, depending on your hair texture, strength and condition.
Finally, each time you use your hair straightener, after the straightener cools down, take a damp cloth and carefully wipe away any residue that is on the ceramic tourmaline plates. This will prevent lotion and/or serum residue from building up on the flat iron and will extend the life of the product.
